Acne- diagnosis and treatment


Acne is characterized as inflammation of Sebaceous glands in the Western approach.  The Causes include Hormonal activity, Drugs, Nutrition, and Accumulation of skin cells, External Factors, Allergies and more.

In Chinese approach, we refer to acne in few levels: Types, Location, and Etiologies. The different conditions include imbalance between heat and coldness with an additional toxicity. It is very important to treat acne from the root, in order to heal the skin condition.

In this lecture I introduce the basic understanding to acne from the Chinese medicine point of view. I explain and demonstrate the ways to diagnose different kinds or acne and how to treat them with acupuncture, herbs and more tools that Chinese medicine has to offer.
